William Brittain, Ph.D

William P. Brittain, Ph.D Dr. Brittain brings more than thirty years experience as a human resource consultant in the public and private sectors to his Apogee clients. His areas of expertise include program planning, organization/system design and evaluation, management development, personnel selection and executive evaluation.  Many of his assignments include strategic consulting in developing effective senior management teams and the analysis and design of fully aligned business structures.

Bill is a recognized authority in the application of behavioral evaluation in management and career development.  He works closely with his clients to develop corporate succession plans, career paths, management selection strategies and career development programs tailored for executives and upper middle managers.  He is a founding member of the International Association of Career Management Professionals and served five years on the Board of Directors.

His clients have included Fortune 500 corporations such as Time Warner, Fisher Scientific, First Data Corporation, News Corp, Reed-Elsevier, Time, Inc., Deloitte and Touche, Nestle and Xcel Energy, among others. He also counts among his valued clients several management consulting firms, small businesses and individuals.

His academic career includes professorial appointments at TCU, Lycoming College, Clark University and Montclair State University where he also directed the graduate program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Prior to joining with The Apogee Group in 1997, Bill had been a partner with Caress, Gilhooly and Kestin, Inc., providing selection and executive evaluation services nation wide.In 1983 he founded Brittain Klein, Inc. offering a broad range of executive level productivity, developmental and evaluative services primarily in the New York region.

His interest in the practical application of behavioral principles in the industrial environment led him to a B.A. in Experimental Psychology and M.A. Degree in Human Factors Engineering from Wichita State University and a Ph.D. emphasizing learning and motivation from Texas Christian University. A Licensed Psychologist in the State of New York, Bill is a member of the American Psychological Association. He serves as a member of the Marketing Committee of the Hampton Roads Virginia Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Bay academy of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
